Good News Moves

Mark is not haphazard in his Gospel—in facts he’s quite intentional—but he is excited and writes with urgency. Intentional urgency. He tells lots of stories and doesn’t expand on them. He wants you to know who Jesus is by what he did. The “and thens” of the story aren’t impulsive, their deliberate and build a tension

Mark is urgent because the kingdom is urgent.
Mark is structured because the cross is the destination.

It’s like he’s saying: “I don’t have time to waste, but I know exactly where we’re going.” Get in the van, we gotta go! Good news moves.

Go Pick A Fight

A deeper dive into the story of David and Goliath, to see the perspective he had of God, that changed an entire story.

I Don’t Want To Suffer

The early Christians faced great persecution and Peter wrote a letter to them to encourage them when they face trouble and suffering. We do not have it as bad as these early Christians, but there is still a lot we can learn about how we respond to adversity because of our faith in Jesus.

DON’t BE SELFISH

It doesn't take much to see. Just look around and see the pileups caused by people being selfish. You've probably been in one of these pileups. We've all felt the negative effects of others selfishness. It's in every sector of society-politics, education, business, entertainment, family, friendships. A world overrun with selfishness is not a world set up for human flourishing. So how do we, as Christians, respond to it?

Prayers of Faith

Prayers of Faith invites us to start the year together, trusting God for what only He can do. Join us during these 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting as we unite in faith-filled prayer—seeking God’s presence, passing the flame to the next generation, and believing Him for the promises He has given. Together, we step forward with expectation for all God has in store.

Our First Christmas

This is Brighthill’s very first Christmas Eve together. We’re a new church, but we are stepping into a story that is not new at all. In fact, it’s the story that changed history.

Christmas is the good news that God came near to rescue us and he invites us to respond. But he didn’t do it how anyone really expected.

Expectations are powerful. Sometimes they look like hope. Sometimes they look like standards. Sometimes they look absurd, outlandish, or unreasonable. But no matter how they look, expectations color the way we see and anticipate things.

What kind of life do you want? We imagine you want a good life. We want that for you too-and so does God! He desires your life to be authentic, full, and truly good. In His famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus shows us what that kind of life looks like:

  • A life of right relationships with God and others-even our enemies.

  • A life compelled by love.

  • A life of peace and generosity.

  • A life free from worry.

This life is not only defined by Jesus- it is offered through Him. And it's offered to everyone. But it is different from the life we're used to. The world's version of "the good life" is appealing but actually distorted, shallow, and ultimately disappointing. There's more and there's better.

Jesus offers us something better: real good life. But we have to choose.

Which life will you choose?
